1919-S 5C MS65 PCGS. Enormously appealing, with a light bluish-gray patina on the obverse, with tinges of gold at the rim, and a light gold cast on the reverse. The obverse strike is pleasingly bold, with good details on the Indian's hair and LIBERTY. The reverse shows the usual weak strike, although die erosion is also suspected, as numerous heavy die flow lines are noted in the fields. The horn is sharp, but much of the hair detail on the buffalo's back and head is soft. The reverse luster is radiant, while the obverse luster is somewhat diffuse (because of the toning). Despite the technical issues, this piece nonetheless has abundant eye appeal, and is decidedly rare in Gem grade. Population: 30 in 65, 2 finer (3/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
