1919-S 50C MS64 PCGS. The 1919-S has the highest mintage (1,552,000 pieces) of the three 1919 halves. Bruce Fox, writing in The Complete Guide to Walking Liberty Half Dollars, says: "Because of this it was saved less, accounting for the abundance of coins grading VG or less." Fox continues: "Fine specimens are tougher to find and VF and higher circulated coins are very difficult to find. Rare in Mint State, but not as scarce as the 1919-D...."
This near-Gem was sharply struck, as evidenced by nice definition in the thumb and adjacent branches, as well as in most of the gown lines. Speckles of light gold-tan color make occasional visits to the lustrous surfaces. A few minute marks define the grade. Population: 55 in 64, 48 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
