1919-S<1C> MS65 Red PCGS. Coppery-gold on both obverse and reverse, and well struck for this conditionally difficult issue. Even though post-war mintages of 1919 Lincoln cents were large, this did not translate into more high-grade pieces being available. The obverse details are bold, while on the reverse E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE CENT, and the wheat ears are bold, yet, curiously, the central letters of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are weak and the die shows signs of failure. Miscellaneous ticks are also noted on the reverse of this delightful and historic piece. Population: 19 in 65, 1 finer (11/05).
From The Joshua and Ally Walsh Collection of United States Cents.
