1919-D 25C MS65 PCGS. CAC. This date is characteristically weak, and Liberty's head is most always flat (J.H. Cline, 2007). The Gem example in this lot displays a much better-than-average strike, and Liberty's head, while not full, exhibits considerable detail. Radiant luster issues from both sides, each of which projects whispers of cobalt-blue, purple, and golden-brown toning. Well preserved throughout. Population: 40 in 65, 22 finer (11/07).
From The Hoffy Collection, NGC's #3 Registry Collection of Standing Liberty Quarters.

Coin Engraver: Hermon A.
