1919-D 1C MS66 Red PCGS. The Denver Mint's delivery of Cents in 1919 amounted to a healthy total of 57.1 million coins. Not surprisingly, this issue has always been plentiful in circulated grades. While Mint State survivors are only marginally scarce in an absolute sense, most are poorly defined with inadequate luster. This is quite possibly the most attractive '19-D Cent that this cataloger has seen, and it is an undeniably impressive coin irrespective of date. The luster flows over smooth, blemish-free surfaces with rich orange-red color. Whereas most extant 1919-D Cents display evidence of having been struck from worn dies, this coin is fully brought up in all areas. One or two wispy bagmarks in the upper right obverse field are noted more for pedigree purposes than for any other reason. A coin that deserves a premium quality bid, and one that will certainly find its way into an advanced Lincoln Cent collection. Population: 11 in 66 Red, with just one finer (7/02).
