1919-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. The 1919-D cent suffered some problems in production. For example, David Lange (2005) writes: "Indistinct lettering and distorted peripheral elements (such as the wheat ears) are the rule," and "Pieces which retain their original surfaces tend to be dark and are often spotted or splotchy." The MS65 Red specimen in this lot is a refreshing exception to Lange's profile. The design elements are crisp, including all of the peripheral letters and wheat kernels and lines in the stalks. Moreover, pretty copper-cold color dominates both sides, and lustrous surfaces are devoid of mentionable contact marks. A couple of tiny reverse toning spots do not distract. Population: 56 in 65 Red, 12 finer (3/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
