Also with original box of issue addressed to "Mr. Seán Moore, Granard P.O., Co. Longford", large Free State Army commissioning certificate and letter issued to Seán Moore, on his promotion to Captain on 1 October 1924, signed by W. T. Cosgrave and Dublin Brigade FF cap badge. The North Longford Flying Column was led by Seán MacEoin. Amongst its famous actions during the War of Independence was the Battle of Ballinalee in which the column fought members of the British Army and Royal Irish Constabulary away from the village of Ballinalee in County Longford and the Clonfin Ambush in which a number of Royal Irish Constabulary Auxiliary Division were killed.
