1919-21 War of Independence Service Medal and 1971 50th Anniversary of the Truce Medal to a member of Second Kerry Brigade, IRA.



With full paperwork including photograph of the recipient, application detailing his service and correspondence from him with the Department of Defence 1945-1967, photograph of the recipient in 1935, death notice (1978), a spent cartridge from the volley fired over his grave at his funeral. This Volunteer, from Kenmare, joined the IRA in July 1917, served in "B" Company of the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Kerry Brigade, IRA, under Brigade Commander John Joe Rice, Battalion Commander John Sullivan and Company Commander Michael Coleman. The medals are in original boxes of issue with compliments slips.
