1918-S 5C MS64 PCGS. This is a particularly difficult date to locate at the Choice and Gem levels of preservation. As one might expect for a branch mint issue in this series, striking incompleteness is the most frequently encountered impediment to a high Mint State grade. The present near-Gem, on the other hand, is boldly, if not sharply struck in all areas with a full date. Interesting clashmarks (as struck) are noted in the obverse field behind the Indian's neck and under the chin, and there is also a die crack (as produced) from 9 o'clock on the obverse rim. Champagne-apricot tinting in the centers gives way to powder-blue and golden target toning around the peripheries. A delightful Buffalo Nickel that is sure to see spirited bidding. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
