1918-S 50C MS64 PCGS. CAC. This difficult near-Gem boasts just a touch of dusky golden-gray color near the rims on each side, with silvery centers and much luster. The strike is above-average for this elusive issue, with a split (but not full) thumb and good detailing on Liberty's head. A few highpoint scrapes on the head and thighs preclude an even finer grade, but Walking Liberty aficionados will find much to recommend here. PCGS has certified only 30 coins finer (1/08).

Coin Engraver: Adolph A.
