<B>1918-S 25C MS65 Full Head PCGS.</B></I> This is a splendid Gem with extremely sharp design details throughout, although the inner portion of the shield has typical weakness like nearly every known example of this date. The surfaces have frosty luster, mostly brilliant with peripheral russet, pale olive, and golden brown color. Although current population figures suggest otherwise, Full Head examples of this date are much rarer than non-Full Head examples. Because of the price differential, Full Head pieces are often submitted multiple times in an attempt to gain one more numerical point. We submit that more than half of the 35 Gem examples certified by PCGS are resubmissions. In fact, it may be the case that only 10 different coins are represented by those 35 grading events.
