According to the included factory letter, this pistol was one of 4200 shipped from Colt to Springfield Armory on May 23rd, 1918, with the grips "Not Listed" and all other features matching. Fixed sights, with the 2-line, 2-block address and patent markings on the left side of the slide with the Rampant Colt, "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" on the reverse, and "H" above the firing pin block. The frame has an "eagle/ S11" inspection mark, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the left side and the serial number on the right. Equipped with a long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, checkered slide stop, thumb safety and magazine catch, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, checkered grips, unmarked full blue magazine, "P H" marked chamber and "J" marked lug.

Condition: Professionally restored, with nearly all of the blue finish, showing an area of brown spotting on the right front of the slide, and some minor edge wear and handling marks. The firing pin stop and front sight both exhibit pitting. Grips are excellent, with a few mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. An exceptionally nice correctly restored U.S. Colt Model 1911 pistol. It would be difficult to improve on the work put into this!
