<B>1918/7-D 5C --Acid Etched--NCS. XF Details.</B></I> FS-016.5. This is a curious coin, not only for the overdate feature but also for the acid etching. When viewing this piece, one has to ask: Why? On some AG-Good coins acid etching really does bring out the date. Such treatment certainly lessens the value, but at least the date is verifiable. But this piece has strong striking definition on each side. The overdate feature is especially sharp with both the 8 and 7 pronounced. The overall surfaces on each side have a "wavy" appearance from the acid treatment.
