<B>1918-D 5C MS65 NGC.</B></I> In his Buffalo nickel reference book (2006), David Lange writes that "Mint State coins are available with the characteristic weakness of strike. Choice and Gem pieces are rare." Iridescent rainbow toning adorns the well preserved, lustrous surfaces of the Gem example in this lot.
