1918-D 50C MS65 PCGS. In a probable effort to increase die life, the Denver Mint appears to have reduced striking pressure for the Walking Liberty Half Dollar this year. As a result, most extant '18-D Halves display some kind of striking incompleteness. What's more, those Mint State survivors that escaped circulation are heavily abraded more often than not, and a solidly graded Gem is among the rarest coins in this widely collected series. Fully lustrous, this uncommonly attractive and conditionally rare example displays emerging definition over the central highpoints, as well as on Liberty's head. The otherwise silver-gray surfaces reveal mottled olive-russet shadings toward the upper, lower, and right borders. With nary a distracting blemish to report, this coin is solidly graded at the MS65 level of preservation. Population: 21 in 65, with a mere three finer (7/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
