1918-D 25C MS65 Full Head PCGS. Struck in respectable numbers (7.3 million pieces), the 1918-D, nonetheless, is a challenging coin to locate in the finer Mint State grades, particularly if one requires a coin with Full Head definition. It has been nearly a year since we last offered a similarly graded PCGS example, and that coin realized $3,300 as lot 6412 in our October 2001 Long Beach Signature Sale. The present survivor is every bit the Gem with fulsome mint frost and no singularly mentionable abrasions. Sprays of champagne-russet iridescence drift over the upper right obverse and lower reverse. As befits the Full Head designation, the striking definition is impressive for the issue, 95% of which (per Cline) was carelessly produced. An important opportunity to acquire a high grade representative of this underrated strike rarity. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
