<Our item number 135034>1918/7-S Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. NGC graded MS-61. Lightly toned. Popular key date. Seldom available in Mint condition, this precious rarity was first publicized by collectors around 1937. At that time, one of the few Mint State coins was offered in a Bluestone Auction (12/4/37:741) which realized the then astronomical sum of $26.25 (Breen). Collectors everywhere began to look through their change and carefully examine their standing Liberty quarter collections. Yet after much searching, few Mint States have been found, and only a scattering of circulated pieces. To this day, this popular overdate remains one of the most sought-after coins of the 20th Century.

It is easy to see the frosty nature of the luster, and the coin remains silvery gray with accents of toning in the color. No signs of ever having been wiped or cleaned in any way, and this is a very presentable example of a premier rarity.

Note in the photographic enlargements the diagnostic clash marks (from the eagle's wing) below TR of TRUST and the microscopic die dot between the right toes on Liberty's foot and the last star, just in the field near the base. These confirm the genuineness of the coin and are diagnostic to this single die pair. A famous rarity that will no doubt bring a strong price from an advanced standing Liberty quarter specialist. Pop 4; 40 finer.
Estimated Value $18,000 - 19,000.

Our item number 135034
<IMAGES>

</IMAGES>
