<B>1918/7-D 5C VF20 NGC.</B></I> The rush to coinage at the nation's mints during the nationwide shortage near the end of World War One was apparently responsible for a number of overdates and other coin varieties--intentional and accidental--created during the era, including the 1918/7-S Standing Liberty quarter, the 1917 Doubled Die Reverse Buffalo nickel, and the present variety.
