1918/7-D 5C AU50 PCGS. FS-016.5. Though the 1918/7-D ranks among the most desirable 20th-century varieties, it attracted little attention immediately after its announcement in 1931, and many examples circulated for years. While examples with significant wear are often available for a price, pieces that approach Mint State remain elusive and are always in demand.
The peach-tinged gold-gray surfaces of this About Uncirculated example retain considerable quicksilver luster, and a diagonal line of brick-red patina crosses the Indian's lips. Though the central devices display a degree of softness consistent with die erosion, the date is bold, particularly the all-important final digit. An appealing, lightly circulated example of this classic Buffalo nickel variety.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
