1918 5C MS66 PCGS. This example approaches the finest available quality for the date, as indicated by the PCGS population recorded below. The frosty gray surfaces are highly lustrous with a hint of gold color on each side. Slight weakness is evident at the centers, although all other design elements are boldly defined. When rarities in the Buffalo nickel series are discussed, this date does not immediately come to mind, but it is clearly one of several condition rarities that are quite common in lower quality. Lange comments concerning the issue, "This high-mintage issue is inexplicably difficult to locate across all grades, the number of coins reportedly struck being at odds with this date's survival rate." Population: 37 in 66, 7 finer (4/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
