An interesting pair of signed typescript letters on Pearson's Magazine letterhead with original envelope both sent to Louise Bryant. The first to Bryant herself and enclosing a "letter of introduction to Shaw" who Harris explains will "tell you all the persons to meet and his introduction will be more valuable than mine". The second is the aforementioned introduction letter from Harris to Shaw explaining that Bryant is the wife of John Reed "who has done such good work for us here in telling the truth about the Russian revolutionaries" and that "she is now going to England and Ireland as I understand, to get the true view of things and I do not think anybody can help her better than you." Also with an original small photograph of Bryant, possibly intended tor use on a passport. (3 items)
