<B>1917-S<50C> Reverse MS65 NGC.</B></I> The appealing light-olive and amber patina on the obverse deepens on the reverse to olive-gold, with glints of sunset-orange, magenta, lemon-yellow, and jade-green in the protected areas near the periphery. While the 1917-S Obverse Mintmark is usually considered to be rarer and more desirable, that distinction blurs a great deal in Gem condition. In fact, judging by the population data, the 1917-S Reverse Mintmark variety appears equally elusive. Both services combined have graded equal numbers of each variety in MS65: 34 of each at PCGS, 16 of each at NGC (9/06).
