<B>1917-S 50C Reverse MS64 PCGS.</B></I> Survivors of this high-mintage issue (5.554 million coins) are plentiful in circulated grades through About Uncirculated. Bruce Fox (1993) says that Mint State pieces, however, "... are scarce and fully struck specimens are extremely rare." A well executed strike on this near-Gem example imparts sharp definition to the design features, including Liberty's thumb and adjacent branches.
