1917-S 50C Obverse MS65 PCGS. The 1917-S Obverse
1917-S<50C> Obverse MS65 PCGS. The 1917-S Obverse is the scarcest of the five mintmark variations for 1917, and it is also one of the most difficult early Walkers at the Mint State level. This is a bright and lustrous coin with a blush of light peripheral gold on the obverse, a splash of iridescent light blue on the eagle's chest, and deeper gold on the lower rim. Highly attractive for the grade, with better than average striking details on Liberty's head and hand. The eagle's breast is sharply defined, but the left leg is characteristically weak. A premier example of this date that is very difficult to find so well preserved. Population: 34 in 65, 3 finer (3/05).
