<B>1917-S 50C Obverse MS64 PCGS. CAC.</B></I> The mintmark was on the obverse through all of 1916, but it was moved to the reverse early in 1917. The population reports indicate that the 1917-S with obverse mintmark is considerably more elusive in terms of total numbers certified than its reverse-mintmark sibling. Boldly struck with slight weakness on Liberty's head and branch hand, as usual. The light-gray surfaces display satin luster and a faint sprinkling of mottled olive patina on the obverse. A couple of trivial milling marks are noted near Liberty's hip area. A challenging early issue.<BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> Adolph A.
