All of the intricate design elements are fully struck, including Liberty's head and shield rivets, as well as the eagle's breast feathers. The surfaces are highly lustrous and nearly pristine. A marvelous Premium Gem example of this conditionally scarce date. Cline reports that this Type One issue is the scarcest of the three from 1917; from Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.
