1917-S 25C Type One MS66 Full Head PCGS. A layer of speckled, multicolored patina covers both sides of this early Standing Liberty quarter. All of the intricate design elements are fully struck, including Liberty's head and shield rivets, as well as the eagle's breast feathers. The surfaces are highly lustrous and nearly pristine. A marvelous Premium Gem example of this conditionally scarce date. Cline reports that this Type One issue is the scarcest of the three from 1917; from Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco. Population: 55 in 66 Full Head, 9 finer (12/07).

Coin Engraver: Hermon A.
