1917-S 25C Type One MS66 Full Head NGC. This is a remarkably attractive and technically impressive example of the Type One Standing Liberty Quarter. This San Francisco Mint production had a mintage of 1.95 million pieces, only about one-third of its Type Two counterpart from the same mint. All of the design elements are completely struck, including the shield rivets and the eagle's breast feathers. The lovely satin luster illuminates silver surfaces with just a touch of gold color on the lower right side of the obverse. A few wispy marks are noted in the reverse fields, but seem relatively insignificant overall.

Coin Engraver: Hermon A.
