1917-S 25C Type One MS66 Full Head NGC. Cline calls the 1917-S "by far the toughest of the three to locate with a Full Head," in comparison to the 1917 (Philadelphia) and 1917-D issues of the Type One Standing Liberty quarter. This essentially untoned piece displays lovely satin luster and distinctly granular, matte-like surface textures. Faint die polish is noted just beneath B in LIBERTY, and a few small marks on each side preclude an even finer grade designation. Census: 59 in 66 Full Head, 17 finer (10/07).
From The Hoffy Collection, NGC's #3 Registry Collection of Standing Liberty Quarters.

Coin Engraver: Hermon A.
