1917-S 25C Type One MS65 Full Head PCGS. J.H. Cline (2007) contends that: "The 1917-S Type I is by far the toughest of the three (1917 Type One and 1917-D Type One) to locate with a Full Head," of which he estimates that 5% or less were so struck. The well executed strike on the Gem we offer in this lot transcends the Full Head to include excellent definition in Liberty's gown lines and toes, the rivets, and the eagle's plumage. Only the horizontal lines of the inner shield are a trifle soft. Dazzling luster radiates from obverse surfaces that are toned a light tan at the borders, and from the reverse that displays speckled russet at the margins. A couple of minute marks on each side are well within the parameters of the MS65 grade designation. Housed in a green-label holder.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
