1917 G$1 McKinley MS67 S NGC.
1917 G$1 McKinley MS67 S NGC. McKinley Gold Dollars were authorized by an act of Congress dated February 23, 1916. The second-year, 1917 has a net mintage of 10,000 pieces. It is not uncommon to find survivors in today's market that have been mishandled by collectors, but it is definitely a rare occasion when we can offer a Superb Gem in one of our Signature Sales. This is one of the most appealing McKinley Gold Dollars of either date that we have handled in recent memory. Both sides exhibit a modest semi-prooflike finish with hints of brightness in the fields. The latter feature is readily evident at direct angles, and original pinkish-gold color is appreciable with even the most casual glance. A fully struck Superb Gem with virtually pristine features. Population: 22 in 67, none are finer at either NGC or PCGS (11/03). Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
