1917 G$1 McKinley MS67 NGC. This Superb Gem specimen of the scarce 1917 McKinley gold dollar is equal to the finest coins ever certified by NGC or PCGS. Both sides of this piece have brilliant satin luster that enhances the sharp design details. The obverse has bright yellow-gold color and the reverse has a combination of deeper yellow and honey-gold color. The mintage of this issue was limited to just 10,000 coins, probably a good decision as few of those were sold to the public. Much of the mintage was acquired by Ft. Worth, Texas coin dealer B. Max Mehl, a numismatic promotional genius throughout the first half of the 20th century. Census: 37 in 67, 0 finer (12/06).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
