*1917 DATED ARTILLERY LUGER. Cal. 9 mm. Standard artillery with 8” bbl, fine-tune sights, numbered to this pistol. The chamber is dated “1917” and the toggle marked “DWM”. It has full-checkered walnut grips and a matching numbered wood base magazine. It is accompanied by an original-type black artillery holster with bbl-end cleaning rod and a tool in the pocket in the flap. Also accompanies is what appears to be a reproduction stock. SN 6264. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching including the magazine. Retains 95-96% strong bright original blue with muzzle and sharp edge wear and a few freckles of pinpoint rust on the front and back straps. The left side of the frame, just above the grip, has scattered fine pitting. The rear sight retains about 95% of its bright niter blue on the slide. Retains 97-98% bright straw colors. Grips are fine, showing light wear. Very fine magazine and bright bore with fine pitting. The holster is fine with lightly crackled surface and has a couple of holes in the cleaning rod tube and another in the inside pocket from where the stud was torn away. The pocket flap is very dry and stiff. 4-49238 JR376
