<B>1917-D:</B></I> JD on the collar identifies this as another John Dorusa (modern) work. This is a copy of an original carved by "Bo" that appeared in one of Del Romines' books, the acknowledged authority on hobo nickels. The ear, hatband, and collar were carved, but a mechanical instrument (Dremel?) was used for the hair, sideburns, feather, and JD.
