Featured in this lot is a 1917 first edition of, "Life and Adventures of Buffalo Bill," by Colonel William F. Cody, publisher Stanton and Van Vliet Co., published the year of his death. The book chronicles the thrilling life and times of one of the greatest adventurers of the late 1800s and early 1900s. From his start as an army scout during the westward expansion to the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, this book is an exciting read as Buffalo Bill's own words grace its pages. "A wonderful story of his long, eventful, heroic career and is supplemented with a chapter by a loving, life-long fdriend covering his last days, death, and burial. The whole work comprising an authentic history of many events inseparably interwoven with the exploration, settlement, and development or our Great Western Plains." The condition of this green-cloth bound, hardback, with gold gilt book is very good overall. There is a bit of scuffing exhibited to the cover's edges. Front cover photograph of Buffalo Bill. The intact pages exhibit age related tanning and very slight foxing. No other obvious marring observed. Clear plastic dust cover. The book measures 7.75"L x 5.5"W x 1"D.
