1917 1C MS67 Red PCGS. Although this World War I-era emission saw a mintage approaching 200 million pieces, few examples equal the quality of this phenomenal specimen. PCGS has graded 13 coins at the Superb Gem level, with only two coins finer (1/07). Both sides of this piece offer glowing sunset-orange coloration coupled with brilliant cartwheel luster. Like on most 1917 cents, the strike is bold, showing good articulation on Lincoln's coat, beard, and hair. The reverse strike is equally sharp. Only a couple of tiny ticks likely separate this coin from an even finer grade. Only twice in the past have we offered MS68 Red specimens of this issue, and both examples sold for nearly $40,000.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
