<B>1917 1C Doubled Die Obverse XF45 PCGS.</B></I> FS-013. Clear doubling is seen on WE TRUST and the 9 and 7 of the date. Medium brown color with hints of underlying red covers the surfaces of both obverse and reverse. Nice definition is apparent on the design features, including near-complete separation in the lines and grains of the wheat stalks. David Lange (2005) writes that: "This variety is illustrated in ... the <I>Red Book</B></I>, also in Walter Breen's ... <I>Encyclopedia</B></I>.
