Our Assessment: This old warhorse has a frame produced by Springfield Armory in 1914 mated to a 1917-1918 vintage Colt Model of 1911 U.S. Army slide. The other WWI-vintage parts and parkerized finish may indicate that the pistol went through an arsenal refurbishment at some point during its long life, appearing to have been performed some time ago. If you're looking for a 1911 that has gone places and done things, this looks like the one for you!
