1916 World Series Program from the Casey Stengel Collection. From Casey's first taste of October action comes this stellar example of a program on most collectors' wish lists. Uncle Robbie commands the cover of this scarce artifact, where an offer of a free motorcar is made if the Robins managed to sweep the BoSox, though a young superstar named Babe Ruth had other plans. Note that there is even a stamped correction to this offer, with the words "the first four games" replaced by a more specific "four straight games." Wear is evident only in mild rubbing to the surface, corners and edges, though there is no tearing or noteworthy creasing beyond light bends, and the binding is still tight and solid. Center scoresheets are unmarked. Surely one of the finest examples available, and all the more appealing due to its previous ownership.
