1916-S 5C MS65 PCGS. The first thing that one notices about this Gem is the bright luster, which is easily visible from a distance. The obverse has a bit of golden toning near the top, while the reverse deepens in color from a light gold on top to a sunset red near the exergue. This is by no means a well struck coin, but the 1916-S is not known for strong strikes, and the heavy luster, eye appeal, and relative lack of abrasions appear to determine the grade. Like the plate coin in the Lange reference on the series, this piece features strong clash marks (as struck), with both the profile of the bison and parts of E PLURIBUS UNUM readily visible on the obverse.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
