1916-S 50C MS66 PCGS. A satiny Gem that has stron
1916-S<50C> MS66 PCGS. A satiny Gem that has strong textured luster that is normally found far less vibrant on this date. Liberty's head shows a very strong strike for this date, as her head is often poorly defined by the dies. Similarly the eagle's breast is well defined, and each feather well outlined. Minor weakness is found on the uppermost skirt lines which had the unfortunate placement over Liberty's thigh, and down the eagle's thigh as well, areas which are notoriously weak on this series. Examination will note a short and unimportant scratch on the right leg of the eagle just above his knobby claw. Toned with textured and speckled medium gold, primarily peripherally placed. Population: 13 in 66, 0 finer (3/05).
