1916-S 50C MS64 PCGS. One of the lowest mintage issues in the series, the 1916-S is also among the most difficult early Walkers to locate with a strong strike and in Gem condition. While this coin is not MS65, it represents excellent value for the collector as it closely resembles a Gem. The granular surfaces have an oyster-gray patina that deepens to a speckled russet at the margins. The mint luster is thick and unaffected by cleaning or dipping. Boldly struck for an early Walker, this piece should be closely examined by anyone building a high grade set of this well-designed series.

Coin Engraver: Adolph A.
