1916 G$1 McKinley MS66 PCGS. Like Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy, William McKinley has been depicted on a United States coin (the other assassinated president, James Garfield, had only a couple of paper money appearances.) Though McKinley's portrait graces three separate issues, fewer than 40,000 pieces bearing his likeness, all gold dollar commemoratives, were issued overall.
This honey-gold example, one of fewer than 10,000 believed to have escaped melting, is from the second issue, the 1916 McKinley Birthplace Memorial gold dollar. It is solidly struck with a hint of reflectivity in the fields and has hardly any mentionable marks.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
