<B>1916 G$1 McKinley MS65 PCGS.</B></I> This issue and the subsequent coins of 1917 were intended to fund a birthplace memorial for McKinley, though various numismatic wags have noted that based on the depiction of the memorial on the reverse, second thoughts were in order! The obverse of this wheat-gold Gem is satiny, while the reverse has the usual partially reflective fields.
