<B>1916 G$1 McKinley MS65 PCGS.</B></I> The sale of this two-year (1916, 1917) commemorative gold dollar was intended to help pay for a memorial building in Niles, Ohio, the martyred president's birthplace. This Gem specimen possesses rich apricot-gold surfaces that emit potent luster and that are devoid of mentionable marks. A sharp, even strike is seen throughout. Karl Stecher, Sr. purchased this piece for $3.25 from A.B. Burkholder during the 1930s. Included is a collector's envelope, marked "1916 gold 1.00 unc McKinley A.B.
