1916 G$1 McKinley MS65 PCGS. Comparison of the two portraits of McKinley executed by Charles Barber is an interesting exercise. The 1903 portrait, which has McKinley in contemporary garb, reinforces the notion of a recently departed president, while the 1916-1917 portrait presents an isolated head without dating clothing, which lends it an aura of timelessness. The amber-gold surfaces are highly lustrous and partially reflective on the reverse. A hint of greenish-gold appears at the lower reverse. Suitably struck with only a few tiny marks on each side.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
