1916-D 5C MS65 PCGS. David Lange (2006) writes that the: "1916-D is not particularly scarce in all grades short of Gem. The latter are rare." The PCGS/NGC data substantiate Lange's assertion, in that the two services have seen about 140 Gems. He also contends that most pieces are weak in the central obverse and the bison's head and shoulder. The MS65 offered in this lot is generally well struck, with strong definition on most of the Indian's hair and braid, the date and all of the peripheral lettering. The most apparent weakness is in the hair at the bison's forehead. Pleasing luster radiates through light golden-gray color, and the surfaces are quite well preserved on both sides.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
