<B>1916-D 50C MS66 NGC.</B></I> The novelty and extreme beauty of the Walking Liberty design meant that a fair number of these first year issues were saved for posterity by both novice and serious collectors alike. Precious few, however, survived in the exemplary condition of this example. In addition to its radiant, satiny sheen and absence of surface marks, both sides are deliciously framed in mottled golden-violet toning.
