<B>1916-D 10C MS64 Full Bands NGC.</B></I> A remarkable example of this important and coveted 20th century rarity, the key to the Mercury dime series. This example is from the reverse die with the mintmark positioned high in its appointed space, near the lower leaf and stem of the branch. Those trained in coin authentication will recognize this as a characteristic of one of the four different die pairs utilized for these coins. The mintage figure totaled 264,000 coins, or an average of 66,000 coins per die pairing. This example is fully brilliant and sharply struck with exceptional eye appeal. The surfaces exhibit satiny silver luster.
