1916-D 10C MS62 Full Bands PCGS. The 1916-D dime is one of those issues that continually generates collector excitement, irrespective of grade. Paul Green, in a July 26, 2005 Numismatic News article entitled "1916-D Dime Still Maintains Strong Appeal," perhaps sums it up best: "Clearly, the years have done little or nothing to tarnish the reputation of the 1916-D. Demand for it seems to be consistent, with some who are not collecting Mercury dimes still wanting a 1916-D for their collection." This reputation, and concomitant demand, clearly manifests itself in the coin's price, as it continues to climb in all grades.
We present in the current lot an MS62 Full Bands specimen that displays lustrous surfaces tinged with whispers of golden-tan, especially in the border areas. The well executed strike transcends the Full Bands to encompass all of the design elements, including sharpness in Mercury's hair and wing feathers and on the diagonal bands, and in the branches and leaves on either side of the fasces. A light toning streak is located above the middle bands. All in all, a sharp example for the grade designation, and one that will undoubtedly elicit spirited bidding.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
