1916-D 10C MS62 Full Bands NGC
1916-D 10C MS62 Full Bands NGC. Like most other key date coins, the 1916-D dime continues to appreciate in value. Paul Green, in a July 26, 2005 Numismatic News article about the strong appeal this issue has for collectors, says: "The price increases are in every grade and solid to nearly spectacular. Not many coins of any era have such an across-the-board increase, but it is not surprising for the 1916-D, as it is one of those very special coins that seem to have a larger audience of interested buyers than would be expected normally from a Mercury dime."
This MS62 example displays splashes of orange-tan patination, more widespread and deeper on the reverse, accented with wisps of cobalt-blue and lavender, also on the reverse. An impressive strike results not only in fullness on the middle bands, but brings out sharp definition on the other design elements as well. Lustrous surfaces are well preserved, revealing only a small, grade-limiting mark on the cheek.

Coin Engraver: Adolph A.
